2014 Reunion Here It Comes…

Reservations have been made, barrels packed and shipped, bags are being packed; Dominica here comes the 2014 Serrant Family Reunion.

As a part of the preparations for the upcoming Reunion, a Photo Gallery capability has been added to the BLOG. Several groups of photos about Dominica can be viewed right now; other groups such as a) “Happenings” – a kind of current events topic (e.g., births, engagements, weddings, etc. pictures) and b) “Reunion Memories” – reunion photos are just getting started. Please feel free to submit additions and suggestions for improvement to this feature.

The process for submitting photos for display on the BLOG is explained in the Help Using BLOG menu, which appears in the upper left-hand corner of the Dashboard section of the BLOG. To display the Dashboard, place the cursor over the string “Serrant Family Blog”, which appears in the upper left-hand corner of the screen; a drop-down menu will appear and you should move the cursor to the “Dashboard” choice and left-click the mouse).

Enjoy the pictures and spread the word.

SERRANT FAMILY REUNION CONTRIBUTIONS

Our reunion date is fast approaching and we’re all looking forward to meet and celebrate in St. Joseph, Dominica.  Remember our date, July 12-20, 2014.  Make your plans to join us, because it will be a great opportunity to meet and connect with family members.

We are urging you to make your contributions to ensure that this celebration will be a success. The planning committee has set a date to receive all contributions from participants.  We are asking that contributions be made by January 31st, 2014.  By doing so you are ensuring us of your commitment to the reunion. Please make arrangements to submit your contributions on time.  You can pay by check, money order, money gram, western union or send to a family member in New York or in Canada.  Family members residing in Dominica can give to the planning committee (Kerr, Yonica, Zetma) in St. Joseph, Dominica.

Support the Day Center in St. Joseph

Hi All,
Here is an opportunity to contribute to the older persons in St. Joseph. The Day Center in St. Joseph has been in existence for over 10 years and provides many services to the elderly. A group of elderly come to the center once a week and participate in indoor games, exercises and reminiscing. They receive a freshly cooked meal, and in addition the meals are also delivered to a number of older homebound persons. The seniors are taken out on picnics and trips to scenic and historical locations on the island. They also participate in other activities held for seniors island-wide. Continue reading
